Day 1

Arrival in Kigali & Genocide Memorial

  • Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you'll be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. 
  • After settling in, you'll embark on a Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a poignant site dedicated to the victims of the 1994 genocide. 
  • In the evening, you might enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. 
Day 2

Volcanoes National Park & Gorilla Trekking

  • Early breakfast at your hotel before transferring to Volcanoes National Park, home to endangered mountain gorillas. 
  • After park formalities and a briefing, you'll begin your gorilla trekking experience, guided by experienced trackers. 
  • You'll spend an hour observing these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. 
  • In the afternoon, you can visit the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village for a taste of Rwandan traditions and daily life. 
Day 3

Golden Monkey Trekking & Relaxation

  • Enjoy an early breakfast before returning to Volcanoes National Park for a golden monkey trekking experience. 
  • These playful primates are known for their vibrant golden fur and acrobatic antics. 
  • In the afternoon, you can relax at your lodge or enjoy a nature walk in the surrounding area. 
  • Alternatively, you could visit the twin lakes (Burera and Ruhondo) for scenic views and boat trips. 
Day 4

Lake Kivu & Gisenyi

  • After breakfast, you'll transfer to Lake Kivu, one of Africa's Great Lakes, and the town of Gisenyi. 
  • You can enjoy a boat trip on the lake, explore the town, and visit the hot springs. 

Consider a visit to the Nyungwe National Park for a canopy walk for stunning views of the rainforest. 

Day 5

Departure

  • Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before transferring back to Kigali. 
  • Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for some last-minute souvenir shopping or a final Rwandan meal. 
  • You'll be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure.
